BVG Contributes to ‘Humanity Ahead’ Through LED Streetlights

The right illumination at nights at public places is a key to eliminating accidents and crimes.

Many academic researches globally, like this and this have established the positive relationship between improved illumination on streets and reduction in crime, as well as accidents.

BVG has developed high luminous efficacy LED bulbs that give 20% more lumen lux output over competitors, while also providing turnkey services in installation and maintenance of streetlights.

BVG recently secured a turnkey contract from Government of Goa, in India, to replace around 1,87,000 LED street lights across the state. While contributing to making the Goa safe, this will also bring down CO2 emissions by 18500 metric tonnes, equivalent to planting 2001543 tree seedlings grown for 10 years, while also reducing power consumption substantially.

Mr Manohar Parrikar, CM, Goa, and Mr H R Gaikwad, CMD, BVG India Limited, went on site visit to see LED installations.
